Goals for the HKS BAA: I ran for a second term as president of the BAA because:

1) I believe deeply in the mission of the BAA and its potential to be a strong and coherent voice of Black HKS alumni and allies in the Harvard community.
2) The BAA, HKS, and Harvard are at an inflection point in history, and the BAA - working with collaboratively with partners - can make a difference.
3) The 2023-2025 BAA Executive Board should build on the successes of the 2021-2023 Board.
I am honored to once again be part of an amazing team of HKS alumni who are leading the BAA, connecting HKS and Harvard alumni, and having a positive impact on things that matter to HKS alumni.
The time is now for the BAA to make a difference, building on the substantial growth and development that we have achieved in the past two years.  As an example, our reunion in spring 2024 will be a great display of our accomplishments as an alumni body, and a foundation for great things to come.
Connection with HKS: Since graduation in 2000, my connection to the HKS/Harvard community has been extensive.
1)   Within months of graduation, fellow HKS Alumni elected me to serve on the HKS Alumni Board, and I’ve in various capacities, including two terms as Chair.
2)    I’ve served as Director of the DC Alumni Council and member of the Harvard Club of Washington DC and the Harvard Black Alumni Society.
3)    My 20-plus year of engagement with fellow HKS alumni culminated in my selection as the recipient of the Julius Babbitt Volunteer Award in 2016 for “exceptional contributions to the HKS community.”
4)    I’ve served as Member of the MPP Admissions Committee and Founding Member and Committee Chair of the HKS Executive Fund.  In 2020, I was selected to serve on the Dean’s Taskforce to examine the HKS Alumni Board.
These experiences, including service on numerous governing boards of non-profit organizations and advisory committees to federal agencies, have informed my management of the BAA as President.
