About René:
René Rambo-Rodgers is a recently retired HKS alum. She was previously the HR Assistant Manager for California Teachers Association (CTA). She received her BA from UCLA and then obtained a K-9 Teaching Credential from Cal State LA. After teaching 6th grade in LA, she was accepted at UC Berkeley Law School and obtained her JD. Working 11 years in labor/management relations, she left to attend KSG for her M/C MPA. Following graduation, she was hired as the Director of Planning & Management Analysis for NYC’s Dept. of Juvenile Justice. She returned to CA as VP for Legal and Administration for a Black owned Radio Broadcasting Company. She has held various management positions in both the private and public sector, including Evening Dean for a business college. She joined CTA, following work as a consultant. She is a member of the California Bar. She served on the previous BAA Executive Board working on the organization’s by-law revisions approved in 2021. She is a member of the California Bar. She is passionate about increasing African American student enrollment at KSG through targeted recruitment and mentoring.
